MemberAlso worth considering: locking in material orders when prices dip. We bought a 6-month supply last spring when prices were lower. Saved us considerably.

MemberWashington state has adopted specific amendments to the IECC. Most of WA west of the Cascades is zone 4C or 4A. Worth a call to the building department before the job.

MemberIn practice a lot of attics have foam sprayed around existing wiring and nothing bad happens. But from a code standpoint foamologist_rex is right. Check with your inspector first if permits are involved.

MemberOpen cell is around R-3.7 per inch, closed cell runs R-6 to R-7 per inch. For a 2×6 wall (5.5 inches), open cell gives you around R-20, closed cell gets you R-33 if you fill it completely.

Member55F is borderline. Ideally substrate should be above 60F. Run a space heater in there for a few hours before you start. The tanks should also be 70-80F for proper mixing.

MemberFroth-Pak is solid for DIY. For a crawl space that size get the 650 board foot kit, maybe two. Do not forget safety gear – respirator, safety glasses, and gloves are non-negotiable.

MemberFor an accessible attic you may want to check your local code. Some jurisdictions require a thermal barrier over exposed foam. It is a fire code requirement not just about color.

MemberVery normal! Closed cell foam yellows and darkens over time when exposed to UV light and air. It is purely cosmetic and does not affect performance at all.
